What is this?

capybooboo.com is a very small website with one job: show you a capybara and say something vaguely encouraging next to it. Every week the photo and the quote both change, so there's always something new to see — even if "new" just means a different capybara looking unbothered by the state of the world.

Why capybaras?

Because they're about the calmest animal on Earth, and the internet could stand to borrow some of that energy. They float, they nap in piles, they ride around on cattle like it's nothing. There's probably a lesson in there. This site does not claim to know what it is.

How it works

No editor, no schedule, no maintenance. A small script on the homepage picks a photo and a matching quote based on the current week, so the page updates itself automatically — land-photo capybaras get land-appropriate quotes, water-photo capybaras get water-appropriate quotes, and everyone gets on with their day.

Photos & credit

Starter photos are sourced under the Pexels License (free to use, no attribution required) with photographer credit given anyway, because it's the polite thing to do. A few photos are the site owner's own.

Who runs this?

One person, for fun, alongside a couple of other small hobby sites. If something's broken or you just want to say hi, reach out at info@capybooboo.com.
